- How easy is this to set up?
Your restaurant can be up and running using Moreplate within a day. Just send us your menu in any format—we'll take care of the rest.
- Do I need to train my staff to use your software?
No software training is required. Moreplate shows your staff each order in real-time. You can think of it as the digital equivalent of a guest check (except much better, of course).
- I'm already using ChowNow / Uber Eats / DoorDash / Olo / etc. to take pickup or delivery orders. How is this different from that?
These apps are built for pickup and delivery, not in-restaurant dining (for instance, they do not allow your customers to submit orders at different times throughout a meal before paying once at the end). Moreplate is used primarily for in-restaurant dining, designed to make the digital sit-down experience seamless and intuitive for both your customers and your staff.
- What about the POS I’m currently using? Is this meant to replace that?
Moreplate integrates seamlessly into your current POS and ticketing service so you are able to run your back-of-house and tech stack as it already exists.
- Can you also offer take-out functionality?
Yes. While our focus is on the sit-down experience, Moreplate allows you to take both dine-in and take-out orders and have everything visible in one place. Our take-out experience is optimized for contactless pickup, allowing you to request your customers' vehicle information and create pickup "slots" to enable social distancing.
- How do I ensure that customers ordering alcohol are of legal age?
If a customer orders an alcoholic beverage with Moreplate, they will be prompted to upload a photo of their identification that is easily verified.
- How do I get paid?
We use Stripe to process payments and are able to remit funds in real-time to your restaurant account. Using Moreplate, you can accept all major credit cards (Visa, Amex, Mastercard, Discover, etc.) in addition to Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- How do I edit my menu?
Everything you need to handle menu changes is available in the dashboard. Easily add photos, edit prices, mark items as sold-out, and launch promotions in one click.
- How do I receive orders?
Whatever is easiest for your kitchen. Depending on your setup, Moreplate can either place orders into your POS automatically or allow your staff to enter them as usual. It's also easy to get notified—put in a list of phone numbers and emails in the dashboard, and we'll send each one a message every time your restaurant receives a new order.
- How do I distinguish orders between different tables?
When you sign up your restaurant with Moreplate, our dashboard creates a QR code and table number graphic for each of your tables, which you can print out and place wherever you'd like. Then, each order you receive is easily identified by the table that placed it. Table numbers and configurations can be updated at any time in the dashboard. Optionally, you can enable seat numbers as well to identify orders by both table number and seat number.
- Do I need special hardware?
Nope. Moreplate can be used with any off-the-shelf hardware—you can even use your own phone, laptop, or tablet. We're not (and never will be) in the business of selling you expensive, proprietary terminals.
- Do my customers need to download an app?
No app download is required. Your customers simply scan a QR code with their phone camera, and they are automatically brought to a mobile website where they can order and pay with ease.
